--Upgrade!--FLEETWOOD MAC feat. Peter Green-1971-07-19-Swing Auditorium, San Bernardino, Ca --sbd from 1st Gen. Reel!--

Friends, here´s the best sounding & most complete version of this memorable show, I found so far!
Peter Green joined Fleetwood Mac for a few dates, after Jeremy Spencer shocked Fleetwood Mac with his legendary disappearance.
This was recorded from soundboard by Harry Kraslow & fortunately taperpat sent me a copy on CDR, from his 1st Gen reel copy, for upload, here!
All thanks for the upload to both of them!
This show was earlyer traded as -1971-03-24,but since the poster of the show was found (scan incl. in torrent), the Date had to be corrected

» Audiowhore on the remaster: "As everyone knows, it’s a great
show but the recording is hampered by the hiss factor. I’ve put
it on Cool Edit Pro and filtered out the hiss, given it a very
slight re-EQ, and changed the track marks to make them more
accurate as to where the songs actually start."
» D1 fixed these problems, post-audiowhore:
t01: about 40 seconds of tuning and silence at start of track
t05: bit of feedback at 3:59; banter level is a bit low
t06: four bits of feedback after the tune
t07: bit of feedback at a half-second into track

Special thanks to: Lothy and Snsik.

An excellent recording in need of a little speed correction and editting. Speed
corrected using Audacity 1.2.3, removed SBEs, and FLAC'd. Then all WAV files run through
Sound Forge 8.0, manually removed lots of pops/digiclicks, smoothed over some rough areas,
smoothed transitions between songs, recut a couple songs for better playability, switched
last two songs for show accuracy, cleared out SBEs in new files, and redid artwork to reflect
new setlist. This isnt perfect, but a majority of the distracting pops and clicks were removed.
No equalization or normalization was done to this show.

More notes...
-- This would have come out alot better if I had a "Sit Down" filter for Sound Forge. I swear
people were yelling this thru the first two-thirds of the show.

-- I split the announcements off the end of Pigs-3DO. Seemed like they would be more appropriate
as a separate track than added to the end of the song. Track transitions that couldnt be done
fairly evenly due to poor levels between tracks or other issues were done with short fades. I
tried to avoid having tracks sounding like they were poorly patched together.

-- Some songs had some weird level issues in them. I didnt mess with this or apply eq to them.
I wanted to preserve the songs as much as possible and I wouldnt have had much luck with some
of the areas.

-- There are ALOT [and I mean ALOT] of tiny clicks throughout this show. It would have destroyed
it to remove them all. I attacked them fairly aggressively when I started, but started ignoring
them as I went along. The pops and cracks [and a few booms] were what I concentrated on since these
really detracted from the listening experience.

-- I didnt spend too much time messing with the announcement tracks. Since it was essentially
talking, I didnt worry too much about them.

-- Somewhere around 10:00-10:30 into Money, things got pretty ugly for the recording...not sure
what the deal was...a huge stream of pops, clicks, and noise. I trimmed down most of it, but dont expect
too much of an improvement. I also removed the taper's commentary at the end and terminated with
a 2 sec fadeout because...

-- Us and Them also seems to be suffering from possible taper hardware issues. Most of the instrumental
intro is missing and was replaced by a screech. Removed screech, added 2 sec fadein, and left
some crowd noise at the beginning so you dont miss anymore of the beginning of the song.

-- Keep in mind this recording was far from perfect audio when I started. Some imperfections simply
made it worse when I edited them, so they were left alone. In cases where pops were in a rapid sequence,
I trimmed them down, but removal would have left "skips" in the flow of the song, so they werent
completely removed. Please dont approach this expecting a pristine remaster, because thats not what
this is. I probably could have spent months on this, but I doubt I have the mental strength to deal
with the "Sit Down" crowd for that long. There is always room for another tweak here and there, but
I think this is good enough at this point.

Thanks to pinkfloyd77 for providing the previous version of this show to the masses. Very much

Comments: these are two well-played sets by the band that's probably most well-known for playing "The Darlings" - that old-timey bluegrass band with a real jug - on The Andy Griffith Show...early on, it is noted that this gig was the tenth they'd played since getting back together in April...The Rooney Fest was well-known for its rowdy, no-holds-barred atmosphere (lots of alcohol and other various substances being enjoyed, I've heard), and the wild and muddy crowd was treated to some classic bluegrass that day...

I got these recordings from my brother on the West Coast...a friend of his had them and was looking to get rid of them, so my brother offered to take them off his hands - and I'm really glad he did!  Each cassette is labeled "Master Soundboard", and they do sound like masters, as there is no hiss!  I also have some Horseflies (4 sets), some Red Hots (4 sets), some Heartbeats (a partial set), and some Creekbend (which hasn't been transferred from the cassettes yet)...

Thanks go out to Jason Espie for mastering these sets - "Rooooooooooooooney!!!!!"

There are many things to love about the ten years of touring Bruce and the band did since reuniting on stage in 1999, but high on the list is the staggering amount of material assailed. By the end of the WOAD tour, Springsteen had tackled some 280 songs, a number boosted considerably by the sign requests of the last two tours, especially given how many of those yielded one-off covers.

But even more compelling than live versions of other people’s songs are airings of little-performed material from Bruce’s own canon. It’s easy to forget that the 1999 tour was mounted in support of Tracks and rarities from the box did work their way into setlists to varying degrees, especially early on when such uber obscurities as “Car Wash” and “Brothers Under the Bridges” received their first and, to date, last airings.

Fast-forward to the end of the 2009 WOAD tour in Buffalo, and again Bruce pulls out first/only readings of several songs including the stunning River outtake (included on Tracks) “Restless Nights.” Steve might have been right all these years year, indeed.

For the hardcores, folks who saw dozens of shows over the last 12 years, these uncommon performances provided some of the greatest moments we experienced in those arenas. The genuine surprise delivered by a song you never thought you’d ever hear or hear again is one of the sublime pleasures of being a fan of an artist who has both an enormous back catalog and who isn’t afraid to mix up his set lists to revisit it. For us, there’s nothing more exciting than when Bruce steps to the microphone and says something to the effect of, “We don’t play this one much....”

Those words provide the title to our comprehensive 6-CD anthology. "We Don’t Play This One Much" gathers ten years of rarities from the once-played to the infrequently-played, all in one place. This set is all about the songs you haven’t heard that often and haven’t grown tired of, culled to create a listening experience that should be quite refreshing to anyone who has listened primarily to complete shows from any of the four tours.

You may wonder where we drew the line. The answer is somewhere around a dozen performances, any more than that and the song didn’t feel so rare any more, with just a couple of exceptions that felt like they would have been conspicuous by their absence given the other material included (like “Code of Silence.”)  We've also included songs performed slightly more but new to the Springsteen live canon over the course of the decade.

16. When the Saints Go Marching In Report:
As Springsteen goes West, the tour moves inside for the first time on this leg. On a 112-degree day in Phoenix, he jokes that next time he'll make sure to play outside so everyone will be more comfortable. As in Indy, "Atlantic City" opens the show, with Bruce himself taking an impressive solo -- rarer on this tour, with so many other musicians to get those spotlight turns. Changes from Indy were "Bring Them Home" replacing "Froggie," and an audible adding to the encore with a spontaneous "Ramrod" before "Rag Mama Rag." Some competition from the NBA playoffs tonight, and more than a few eyeballs were glued to TVs in the concession areas; no mention of the Suns' season-ending loss from the stage, but though only about half-full, the arena was the perfect place to chase the blues away. And a special guest: Arizona resident E Streeter Nils Lofgren was in the house, joining the band to sing and strum on "Pay Me My Money Down."

Taper's notes:

1) Quite obviously, these files should be traded freely and never for profit. Remember to support the artists!

2) It is likely that several sources of this show will emerge. For ease of convenience, please refer to this as the "MFS source".

3) Minor imperfections: there's a bit of chatter beside me during the start of "Kiss Me on The Bus". Someone to my R sings along to the first verse of "Androgynous". There's some clapping along around me during "Left of the Dial". None of these are particularly egregious.

Real nice show with pretty good sound. Patrons were sober (!), behaving and LISTENING, there’s only a bit of (of course highly unnecessary) chatter during “Blues Power”.

I was a bit late as I had been trying to sell off my 2nd ticket outside of the venue no avail. Seems everybody buys their tickets in advance & online, there days. Still, I was able sneak through the dense front crowd in the all standing area, and positioned myself in about the 20th row and pretty much centered.

As far as I could judge (and I always enjoy taking looks around and to the crowds in the back to catch the feel) it was a sell-out affair which would prove it really dosen’t matter any longer how E’s respective new studio album sells or turns out, quality-wise.

I did enjoy the show and Big E seemed inspired and pretty much relaxed. I was glad BADGE was back in as I’m a Badge nut, and Doyle again played some nice licks during the grande finale "Love is my Badge" section. Alas, that song’s inclusion went at the expense of good ol’ “Sheriff” which I always enjoy a lot, too. Also, I did like “Gotta Get Over”. It has a nice “first solo album”–feel to it and gives our hero some space to stretch out a bit. I’d be happy if he kept this ditty in his set list on future tours.

I transferred digitally from my DAT walky to my Philips standalone CD-R burner with no fumbling/doctoring/adjusting etc. at all. This is the first time I used my new Sony mic. The recording represents pretty well what I remember how the show sounded so I guess it was a good purchase - but please judge yourself.

TOTAL TIME - 1:48:14

1. I was 3rd row, extreme left, so pretty much just tried to point the mics at the PA stack in front of me.

2. Because I was close, half of my intent was to get a decent recording, and the other half was to not worry about it, have a good time, and enjoy the show.

3. Either the zoom was being super sensitive and picking up a lot of my movements or it was being super sensitive and picking up a lot of wind noise or it was doing both. It was a bit of a windy night in a complete open-air amphitheater. Whatever the source, there is some extraneous noise present throughout the recording, though it seems to become less instrusive as the show goes on, so either I stopped moving as much, or it got less windy. Or both.

4. Also because I was close to the stage, there is occasionally some noise from some of the stage effects. The fog machines on the spider are super loud. That's all that noise at the beginning of Psycho Circus... and the pyro is really fucking loud.

Aside from all of that, it's pretty nice, clear, reasonably listenable recording. Enjoy at your own risk.

Genesis 1987-06-08 Reichstagsgelaende/Platz der Republik, Berlin,Germany

Reichstagsgelaende/Platz der Republik, June 8th, 1987.
TM Productions GEN870608TM

This remaster was formerly known as "MASTER OF BERLIN", and it is one of my early works, I did it
in November 2000. In these days when remaster groups were rare (hard to imagine), my project had
no name, nor had my babies.

The nameless primary version was traded in 2001 without my knowledge (but with my silent consent),
and the name of the directory the SHNs were stored in was "\masterofberlin".
When I asked Speedy for the origin of the name, he said, he liked the sound of that, so in his
trade list he called it that, partly to help explain to people what it was (make it recognizable)
and half as an inside joke because he had been arguing (with Mark B) on the forum that "Master
of Chicago" and BURP 003 were NOT pre-FM recordings of Chicago 78. Also, on the SHNGenesis hub
people saw the directory name. So the name supposedly "stuck".

Later on, Mark B had Jeff M attempt to re-master this for the well known BURP 012 release. This is
Speedy's recording comment of it (from The Movement):
>>A bit disappointing in that I find the original source material of this remaster to sound better
than the remaster. Still, bests "Triangle on Domino". But I *recommend* "Master of Berlin".<<

So this is it! Newly released (soundwise unaltered) by popular demand.

Audio-source: Pre-FM DAT, with the exception of "Throwing It All Away", "Drum Duet" and most
of the spoken introductions. Most likely, these bits were omitted to keep the program length
below 120 mins. So I had to restore the show with the help of a 2nd gen Cassette tape that David D
was kind to lend me.
This tape was noticably worse than the DAT and I remember it was not easy to adjust, but as no one
has noticed the fact that the remaster was a composite, I think it must have worked ;)

Mastered with Sonic Solutions, restauration of the 2nd gen recordings with Sonic Solutions NoNoise.
Further processing: SPL Spectralizer and SPL Maximizer.
