Dan Lampinski recorded over 100 concerts in the Providence/Boston area, mostly between 1974 and 1978. His earliest recordings were made with an internal microphone deck, and though they are somewhat lo-fi compared to his later work, some very great moments in rock history were captured for posterity. In late 1974 he bought a Sony TC-152SD tape recorder, a Sony ECM-99 stereo microphone, and began using Maxell cassettes. He was also fortunate enough to have a friend who provided excellent taping seats for many shows, resulting in high quality recordings. In 1977, he switched over to a Nakamichi 550 tape recorder, two Nakamichi CM-300 microphones, and continued using Maxell cassettes.

He recorded many of the major 70's bands: Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Queen, Blue Oyster Cult, Frank Zappa, Jethro Tull, ELP, Kiss, Black Sabbath, The Who, Al Stewart, Alice Cooper, Jeff Beck, Bruce Springsteen, Supertramp, Jean-Luc Ponty, Moody Blues, Neil Young, The Faces, Rush, Rick Wakeman, Kansas, as well as several "under the radar" acts.

Since Dan never traded copies of his recordings, they are all essentially uncirculated. Some copies were made for friends, but these releases are the first time most of these recordings have ever seen the light of day, and are direct from his master cassettes. No EQ'ing has been done to any of the transfers. Feel free to EQ, matrix, patch, etc and re-post if you like, just give Dan credit for the original recording.

Dan was very meticulous about taking good care of his tapes and is very pleased that these recordings will now circulate among the trading community. Please honour his kindness and generosity by sharing these recordings freely.

"Probably soundboard"

Transfer from Vinyl to Sound Blaster Live, via Line In using Sound Forge 4.5 recorder.

This performance should not be confused with the Warners broadcast show from the same venue on the same night and put out as the promo "2-sides Live"
The source of these files is a 1984 vinyl boot with the title "Another Time Another Place".
These files were put up on DC on 1st Dec 2001 and will only be avalailable through me for 14 days. After this they will be removed.
The initial source file played back too fast. Playback speed has been rectified and as much distortion and hiss as possible was removed in Sound Forge 4.5 and "Noise Reduction"

There is a slight gap before track 7. I have not put in a fade.

So, I wanna give you (meaning Stone) all the publishing. IF, you never show your tits again. No I am kidding they are lovely, in a Will Ferrel kind of way.Ó Stone laughs and goes up to his mic and says, ÒDid you hear what he said? Great show, great quality (probabyl from MiniDisc or DAT digital recorder).

Very good versions of Planet of the New Orleans, I Think I Love You Too Much (a bit different than that played in Knewborth '90 - new bridge added), Setting Me Up (great solos!) and Tunnel of Love

Comment Jean-Sébastien Brasme:

From the bootleg "Strait To The Point", this concert is from the first venue of the 'On Every Street Tour'.

The sound is great for an audience recording
it includes some rares songs :

-Setting Me Up,
-Why Worry,
-I Think I Love You Too Much (great solo)

a different version of Heavy Fuel.

Last track on CD2 "Tunnel of Love" is from 27.08.1991 (same venue).

Additional comments(OEB):

One of the first concerts (fourth) of the On every street world tour in Dublin 1991.

Taken from the original silver pressed bootleg "Strait to the point".

Interesting because of the rarely performed songs like:

-I think I love you too much,
-Setting me up
-Why worry.

Very good sound quality,

complete show including one bonus track ( tunnel of love) from the day after this concert.

Comments(fom Geetarz): "IMHO this one have the best version of Planet of New Orleans and,

I like the very sweet end of the show with people singing along Why Worry." (JYB).

One of my first purchased bootleg CD from underneath the shopcounter!

spontaneously felt in love with this show.

-STUnNING version of "Planet of New Orleans"!!
-Great guitar licks and solo during "I think I love you too much"
-very nice version of "Setting me up"
-sweet audience sing a long during "Your latest trick" and "Why worry"

Funny momment when Mark speaks to the audience before the song "on every street":..."This one is the title track from the new album....... you wanna hear the the old stuff Dub??...( audince responce:..."yeah..")..well this was a mixure...yes or no..we gonna do both....we'll do both....well everything must change my friend..everything must change....( mark bit of laughter)...MINE HERO I HOPE THAT DUBLIN CHANGE TOO MUCH.." (audience laughter)

This the fourth (26th August 1991) show of the "on every street 1991-1992 world tour"
For the first and second show of the oes world tour see here:  (first night, "the on every street kick off" 1991-08-23  (second night, "together again 1991"1991-08-24)

Recorded from section 116, Row C, Seat 2 (three rows from the floor, stage right).

Arrived in St. Louis from Evansville, Indiana @ 3:30 pm via I-64.
We went to the Hard Rock Cafe in Union Station before the show and they had the outside area reserved for the European Police Fan Club. We waited around as long as we could to try to meet up with them, but had to leave before they arrived because we wanted to get to the venue early in case I got busted with my crotched equipment. We were staying at a hotel about two blocks West from the venue.
If any of the European Police Fan Club reads this, I would sure like to get a couple of those Ghost In The Machine buttons that were on the gift bags at your Hard Rock tables!

We met up with our plant manager Tim S. and his family inside the venue (Patrick and I work at the same factory in Indiana). I purchased a Police Tour Date shirt (the green one) for my teenage son, and a Synchronicity (white) shirt for my little girl. Sixty dollars for both shirts. I also purchased one of the excellent tour programs for myself, well worth the $20.00, and with lots of older pictures.

We were fortunate enough to be sitting just in front of two ladies from Terre Haute Indiana who managed to get a professional camera w/ a 300x zoom lens into the venue. I will hopefully be trading a copy of this recording for her photos. One idiot blew past my buddy Patrick (Section 116, Row C, seat 1 - security/idiot blocker), and was yelling at his buddy two rows down (I'm right behind you!, or something like that - repeated 3 times) on a cell phone, but thanks to the Cardioid mics and Patrick, it is not intrusive on the recording. I dropped the recording level one notch shortly into the first song due to Stewart's bass drum hitting so hard, the clip light briefly flashed on the Edirol, but after loading the WAV in CEP2 it was not a bad clip at all (I would hardly even call it a clip). The drums and vocals were very up in the mix, Sting's bass guitar and Andy's guitar were behind in the mix. I captured a nice strong signal and I believe this recording warrants a solid B+ for sound quality. LMK what you might rate this as.

A few minor flubs by all members. Stewart dropped his sticks once or twice, Andy has a couple of "off" notes early on, Sting has one "off" moment as well later in the performance. All easily forgiven and for the most part not noticed.

Sting was very talkative and trying to remember the venue they played at on their first show in St. Louis many years ago, and says it was "something nights" An audience member in the front (?) row informed him that the venue in question was Mississippi Nights. Sting comments that this first show was "back in 1875" or something to that effect.  He also introduces Stewart and Andy as "the legendary xxxxxxxxxx".

The audience was invited to participate on several songs, and they perform admirably!

Someone had some great reefer in our section, very pleasing aroma. I recorded sans alcohol (I only had a small cup of water to sip on) in an attempt to pull a decent recording without having to break off to relieve myself. I faced the stage throughout the entire show in an attempt to eliminate any possible phasing due to the nature of the Cardioid mics. Many thanks to Ms. Brooklyn at Roxy's All Nude Club in East St. Louis for the neckrub after the show (and the stinkfinger for Patrick).

Many thanks to Sting, Andy, and Stewart for reuniting and giving these performances, please support The Police by purchasing as much official output as you can afford. We had a great time and thought the show was excellent, well worth the $200.00+ via the Best Buy pre-sale. Thanks also to the people of St. Louis, they were really into the show, the band sensed this and reciprocated the energy. The opening act (Fiction Plane) was very good, I hope they are succesful in all present and future endeavours.

I have included pre show music and crowd ambience before the show starts. I have also included post show music and crowd ambience (mostly Patrick and I discussing the show and leaving the venue out to the street). I hope this adds somewhat to the "close your eyes and you are there, recording with us" feel. If you were at this show, I sincerely hope this recording will take you back to that spectacular night!

 Constructive comments/critiques are welcome.

Please do not remaster this recording (please email me if you have a vg+/ex digital alt source for a matrix), also please do not distribute without the original info/lineage. NO MP3 except for non distributed personal player use. Thank you for understanding.

If anyone would care to make some hi-res artwork for this distribution, please contact me and I will email you my pics.

Queen 1980-09-29 Madison Square Garden New York, NY

New York (USA), Madison Square Gardens

FLAC > WAV > Remastering > FLAC (level 8)

Sound: good/very good
Source: audience

Second of three nights in a row at Madison Square Gardens. It sounds a bit distant. It's a clear sound though. Very energetic performance of the band. This night they played 'Dragon attack', which wasn't played the night before. The usual 'remastering' done (removing some clicks). Enjoy! Cheers, Tim (Epic Dreams)

Aud>screwed up CD-Rs>Audition>Wav>FLAC

This is for maniacs who want everything; the sound is not great (hear sample).
THe disks I received had a right track that was 20 DBs lower than the left.
That wasn't acceptable to me so I mixed the tracks, then boosted the middle
and the high end another 8 dbs, then normalized. I also re-indexed the disks.
Also, there was a very irritating burst of static and quite a few botched
segues between songs, as well as some cut off endings or beginnings as noted.
The sound is pretty bad; do not expect this to sound great. Still it's a fun
show and for free it's not a total ripoff.

The tracklist here doesn't quite match the artwork as "Soothe Me" has been
cut into Disc 2, Track 10 "Let The Four Winds Blow."

Artwork is included, both the original artwork I grabbed from as well as some I whipped up 'cause
I didn't like the pixellation, although it's still pretty lousy.
