Paul McCartney
Sydney - Qudos Bank Arena
2017 - 12 - 12

Recorded with internal microphones of Sony PCM-M10 at 48khz/24bit
Tweaked in Adobe Audition 3.01
All tracks are cut on section boundaries and should make for gapless CDS after downsampling to 44khz/16bit.

A Video of "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!" is up at
I have complete video of all songs and some of the banter and have combined them into an HD movie,
with the complete audio and still images inserted into the banter section without footage. If
there is enough interest, I can upload this here, however would appreciate some help with seeding
the 10+Gb file (depending on the compression level I'm going to choose), please contact me with a PM
and I will arrange for a pre torrent file transfer.

I got this in a trade for a couple of years. It's not the best
quality, but very interesting for the 16 min Improvisation:

00:00 - 01:09:(from what will eventually become) Larks' Tongues In Aspic Part I
01:09-02:15=(from what will eventually become) Lament
02:15-03:19=Fripp/Collins improv interplay on vague Lament texture
03:19-04:12=(from what will eventually become) Lament ... again
04:12-09:01=Fripp & Collins free improv (often barely without the band)

I have only this 5 songs from the show and looking since years for
the complete show, perhaps someone can help. It`s a must have for
all KC fans because Mr.Wonderful is one of the best Improvs.from
Fripp/Collins at this time.Listen to MP3 samples before you download
 the show.

Mel Collins: Sax, Flute and Mellotron

comments: I got part of this from another recent dime download, and
had another recording of the same show I recieved in a trade, but both
were about an hour or less and clearly very incomplete accounts of this
concert. So I got to wondering, similar length but not the same, what's
up with that? I compared them, and found there was some non-duplication
in the 2 sources I have, so I've tried my best to splice it together as
it actually happened. If I am incorrect in the sequence, it should be
fairly easy to put these tracks in correct order, but I'm fairly confident
it is in order, and while this is still not a complete account of this
concert, I have 78:58 of this concert put together in this torrent, which
is about 20 min. more than any other single source I've found so far of
this, (I also have a third one but the quality of that one is the worst
of the 3, not used for any of this torrent) and the last track cuts off at
what sounds like near the end of the concert. (maybe it's the last song
before encore?) I don't know the names of all the tracks of this era, but
am fairly confident I've not duplicated any of them in this torrent. If
you heard the recent shorter version seeded on dime recently, the quality
of my other source is similar to that. KC shows of 71 vintage could run
up to about 100 minutes, although most are considerably shorter, maybe
65-90 min. or so. I don't think anybody knows how long this one is in total,
but if you like long ones from the King in 1971, this is worth having. Not
wonderful quality by any means, but not bad at all for a KC aud for this era
(both sources used in this are audience recordings). This is the earliest
KC show I've heard of 1971, kinda sloppy performance in parts, still
learning the new material, they screw up the beginning of Cirkus
(either that or the recording has a flaw, but I think it's the band,
not the recording.). Some interesting stuff too. Thanks to the previous uploader
of the shorter version of this for helping out on some of the song titles.
I think the last one may be battle of glass tears but not sure, it's the
longest track in this torrent even though the end is cut on it, and probably
the least in quality (another reason it seems to be the final song of the concert
or last before an encore, if there was one.)
Do not sell this recording.
Trade freely and losslessly.

I removed the blank spaces and fixed a few glitches.  I checked and corrected the speed.  I checked and eliminated DC offset if present.  I did the editing, mastering (tweaking), analog to digital transfer and artwork for this version of this show.  I've included jpg screen caps of the way the wav files looked (raw before) and (final after). Don't add to, change or remove any of these files.  Keep the text, md5 and artwork files unaltered, together with the FLAC's

Don't rename directories or file names if you share this.  My concern is that when people rename them they drop information like date, venue, location, T number.  This information is useful to others when searching for or deciding which version of a show they want or already have.

Don't alter the sound of this recording.  The T releases are not to be used as a source for anyones so called remastering projects.  I'm also making available the raw source recording I used for this release. It's has (T source raw) in the folder name.  Anyone that wants to work on the raw source recording is free to do that as long as you mention the source tape you used.  Don't use T-801 version as a source because I've already worked on that one.  Use the (T source raw) recording for your source.

Not the greatest of audience recording but for any body brought up on Earthbound then its pretty easy to listen to.
I was rather hoping that some one with better recording tools then mine might be able to clean up the sound a little.
Bit of a tall order but who knows, there may be someone out there who is up to the job and could re-post the show back at Dime.
Whatever, the playing is great and any self respecting Crimso fan will probably want to have a listen.
If you want to hear some great live Crimso visit and you can get some great downloads and Bob gets the money.

I got this recording as trade CDR's from two different people. The second time I got it from a DaD member (thanks, £ukasz!), but I've forgotten who the first trader was. Thanks as well, anyway.
I traded it twice because the first source suffered from several issues: low volume in one of the channels, tape flip (that's my guess) in the middle of the second improvisation, audience cut in between songs, track marks placed at the wrong spots, some brief millisecond silence bits probably due to bad rips...
As you are probably guessing, both CDR's came from the same source. I asked some time ago if anyone had a good source for this one, and I got no reply, so I've tidied this one up a bit.
I'm no wizard, and I didn't want to do anything that couldn't be repaired afterwards, so I just carefully deleted the silent blocks, boosted the sound in the lower volume channel (+3 dB for the left channel in tracks 1-7, the same for the right channel in tracks 8-11), and tracked the songs and improvisations correctly.
I didn't attemp to fill the space between songs by splicing clapping from other parts of the show, so, when burning this, there should be no space just between tracks 3-4-5, 6-7 and 8-9-10.
If anyone wants to take a shot at this one, just do it.

Anyway, this recording is far from being as bad as all this may lead you to think. Check the samples and make up your minds. Enjoy!

A very fine show from my favorite King Crimson incarnation.
Early 1973,when Jamie Muir has left surprisingly the band, they played
a lot of great improvisation at their concerts and really great
versions of their songs.Doctor D was a new song, never released
in a studio version.I got this tape in a trade for more than
30 years and I'm suprised for the great quality for this times.
Listen to the MP3 samples. In my opinion it's one of the best shows
in my collection from this period,so enjoy the great music.Cover
artwork is included.Easy money and Fracture are amazing and

!!!!!!!!!!warning this is a cleaned up version of the original bootleg never trade this as the original!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-----Many Thanks To Booomboom for posting this in the first place------

fantastic show from King Crimson, John Wettons' Bass Playing is incredibly agressive during this show,  He's pretty much the driving force tonight! Great improvisations and Robert Fripp is really on fire !,superb guitar work and he speaks the Intro to Easy Money in german and french language and he is laughing a lot and makes jokes with the audience. I can`t believe it,Robert Fripp is joking and kidding with the audience, never heard Fripp in this way before or after.

I Cleaned out all the bad noises and a skip, recombined Book Of Saturday as there is no reason for 2 minutes of music to span 2 discs. no sound enhancement was done.

New inserts by myself are included for your appoval as I found the originals to be lacking.

I based the improv names and inserts on works by Hans Holbein The Younger. His painting  "Dance macabre" or Dance of Death and his "Alphabet of Death" were brought to mind as I listend to the improvs.

The music of first improv "The Youth" relates to the indiscipline of the youthful male and his inability to get anything done except die.

The music of second improv "The Maiden" relates to hanging onto the flame of life even as it wanes.

the music of the third improv "The Baby" relates to the inevetability of Death as all things must pass.

The insert package consist of 11 Death Alphabet cards spelling King Crimson, a unique back mount for the Death cards, 3 cards related to the improvs with the corresponding image from Holbeins' painting 'Dance of Death' and front and back inserts.

The work in this torrent took around 36 hours spread over 3 weeks to complete I hope you enjoy it.

Yes 1977-12-01 Eberhard-Bauer-Halle Esslingen, W. Germany

Going for the One Tour
Esslingen, W. Germany

The date 7-7-7 marked the 30th anniversary of the release of Going For The One, reuniting the "Classic Yes Line-up," so I thought it would be fun to seed the shows I have in my collection on or near the dates of their 30th anniversaries.

Lineage: audience -> audio CD -> Sound Forge -> FLAC

This is a decent-sounding stereo recording, with some hiss. It is incomplete, missing "Firebird Suite" and "Parallels," as well as about 30 seconds of the opening of "And You And I." I don't know if it is from the master tape or a tape copy.

Yes is in good form, heading toward the end of their lengthy tour with a full head of steam. In this performance you can hear them adding some different voicings to the songs in the now-routine setlist. Instruments are clearly distinguishable and performances are excellent. The audience is enthusiastic and attentive, and the band members are enjoying themselves.

If there was a "tour song" played this night, it is not included on my copy of the recording. Forgotten Yesterdays gives lyrics for a tour song which say it is the band's last night in Germany. Also unusual for the tour is the lead-in to "Going for the One," which is not the usual humorous bit with Rick Wakeman, but instead a little country-blues jam.

The original files came to me from my friend Orjan in Sweden. The audio quality would probably benefit from an updated transfer. I don't know if it was released by Highland or is simply a copy from cassette to CD, but there were some differences in the quality of sound in each channel which took a while to resolve. Some of this may have been caused by playback on a less-than-excellent cassette deck, but possibly the age of the tape is also to blame. By the way, that ticking sound in "Country Jam" (disk 2, track 1) is in the original files and is not caused by corrupted FLAC files in the remastered version. And there is a little static or distortion in the left channel at about 5:00 into "Awaken."

Notes from tom

A substantial phase (azimuth error) was corrected using CEDAR.
Tape playback speed was off by 2.5%.  This has been corrected.
The right channel volume was increased by 1.5dB

There is noticeable damage on the right channel throughout disc 1, especially on the first track and on the last part of the last track.
The high frequencies were irreversably destroyed by cyclical dropouts which probably are due to a mechanical tape transport problem.
Each dropout is 0.6 secs long, beginning with two very short glitches; this happens at rate of 0.66Hz.

There is a total dropout towards the end of The Musical Box corresponding to tape-flip.

Geetarz Comments:

An easy recording to identify, as it's louder on the right channel than on the left. Recorded on MiniDisc, skips in the master recording flaw an already difficult listen. Use of automatic recording levels should be punishable! Typical MD weirdness in the percussion and cymbals. A difficult listen, save this one for the diehard collectors and compleatists.

deck the hall with the who
(what a bargain)
The Who
Roger Daltrey- vocals
Pete Townshend- guitar
John Entwistle (the Ox)- bass
Keith Moon- drums
Music Hall
Boston, Mass.
August 1971  might be August 6?
(they played Boston Aug. 4-7, 4 nights,
this is all from one of them but I don't know
which, tape was dated August 20 and U.S.
71 Who tour ended on Aug. 19 in Chicago.)
runtime:  76:40 (minutes/seconds)
1: love ain't for keeping  2:42
2: pure and easy  6:31
3: my wife  5:07
4: I can't explain  4:54
5: bargain  6:48
6: behind blue eyes   5:35
7: won't get fooled again 8:49 (end spliced after song, tape flip)
8: don't even know myself  5:42
9: pinball wizard  3:40
10: my generation  3:53
11: magic bus  8:09
12: see me, feel me  5:40
13: encore medley  9:05 (Daddy Rolling Stone, road runner)
trade cassette, of several analog cassette generations from the source tape >
played on Nak. 300 (with speed adjusting) into soundforge (wav) > flac (sb's aligned) >
torrentially yours. A who knows what this comes from production.
according to etree listing, this recording is missing "baby don't you do it"
(after won't get fooled). based on the typical length of 1971 who shows, this is
quite likely true, that, and/or one or two other songs may be missing in this recording.
this post includes all that is on the tape I have. the recording (possibly a previous
transfer of it) has some flaws in it where the music cuts out momentarily, and there
are a couple of parts with fairly loud shuffling noises from crowd movement, but there
don't appear to be any tape flip interruptions in any of the songs included here.
etree lists this show as August 5, 1971, but the tape says August 20 and they
were in Chicago on Aug. 19, so either date could be right.
the tape ran quite slow to my ears so I speed adjusted it based on how I'm used to
hearing these songs sound. Quadrophenia, Tommy and Who's Next are probably my staple
Who albums so I'm very familiar with how these songs should normally sound.
It's a what was that production (the sound isn't anything to get excited over)
fortunately the band is a Who was there production. the performance is very good
and all four of them contribute some interesting between song banter.
fortunately most of that seems to be included here.
no idea how many generations the tape source of this comes from, but it's a few,
unfortunately the hiss is rather prominent, probably from analog tape copy lineage,
and there is a moderate amount of crowd noise, it's not overwhelming. otherwise the
recording is not too bad for this era, and all the instruments and vocals (and between
song stage talk) are clearly heard.
this is the first who's next live recording I ever heard, and I didn't notice any cuts
in the recording, but there are a few problems, either in the source or a previous
transfer of it between the original and my tape copy, some bumps from crowd movements
and a few momentary interruptions. I've reduced a few of the bumps to make them less
intrusive to the listening experience. I did not use any EQ or noise reduction.
there's mention of them playing 4 nights in Boston, but I think they played just 2.
Pete says they're playing louder in Boston because they weren't playing loud
enough anywhere else. If they really did play 4 nights (apparently they like Boston,
but I am surprised they ever did that), this could be called "deck the hall with the Who
for a week" (part 1,2,3 or 4, whichever one it may be), but in any case it was a good time.
apparently the Who did not play Boston in 1972, but in 1973 for "Quadrophenia", they played
at Boston Garden (the local hockey arena) as they did in 1979 and a few times before that.

1998, december the 16th

I found in my archieve this recording of an awesome Lenny Kravitz
playing in Milan, so I decided to put it on the web. We arrived late a
t the arena and the only free seats were on the right side of the stage,
not in front of the p.a. system. The result is a not very clear recording,
but I tried to do the best I could in terms of quality and the result is a
good recording with some loss of clarity of the voice. But sure listening
you'll get all the power of that night, and the setlist is full beautiful
solos. There's a loss of the first part of "Are You Gonna Go My Way"
due to a microphone problem.

Geetarz Comments:

In-freaking-credible outro to Sunshine of Your Love. Recorded on DAT and then tweaked, markedly superior to "River of Dreams" which was recorded on MiniDisc. Note that the cover art is strangely similar.

JEMS is pleased to release the second of a series of recordings made by legendary taper Mike Millard, AKA Mike the MICrophone, best known for his masters of Led Zeppelin in and around LA circa 1975-77. For further details on how these tapes came to be lost and found again, as well as JEMS' history with Mike Millard, please refer to the notes in Vol. One

Our second installment is from night three of Dylan's residency at the Universal Amphitheatre in June 1978. This recording is more complete than the first night, but was again joined in progress. Millard's notes state, "Missed first five minut[e]s of concert," so his recording omits the show-opening "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall" and "Love Her With a Feeling," before he gets his Nakamichi 550 up and running during "Baby Stop Crying."

Like night one, what Millard did record is, to my ears, mighty fine. Lossless Bob has two entries for this show, both of which appear to be the same recording based on the LB notations that they cut in the same song ("Forever Young"). Millard's recording has no cuts in "Forever Young," and while we haven't done an A-B comparison, that detail suggests it is indeed a new and previously uncirculated source as night one was. Samples provided.

Olof's essential and detail-rich Still On The Road website notes: "There are (sic) some confusion regarding these shows, the set lists are identical, but some sources claim that Joni Mitchell was present on this show [June 3] rather than the nigh[t] before." I can confirm that the BobTalk transcription on Olof's site for June 3 matches Millard's tape, so it is safe to say Mitchell's appearance, cited in the June 2 BobTalk, is properly attributed to the correct show.

A few additional notes:

In 1978, the Universal Amphitheatre was an open-air venue

I've been told on good authority that Millard used a wheelchair to get his gear into shows, but didn't record from a wheelchair or the wheelchair section of the venue.

Thanks again to WG for finding the tapes and to SG for providing JEMS with another fascinating chapter of taping history. Also, JEMS is greatly appreciative of the work of mjk5510 for his continued assistance in getting these recordings into your hands. He is a vital part of the process at this point.

Here's to Mike the MICrophone and to finding more lost tapes.
