Show Notes:
To start off, in early 2017 I was made aware that my favorite guitar tandem, that being Rich "Riff" Robinson and Marc "Fuckin'" Ford were gonna go back on the road together as "The Magpie Salute". I was interested until I heard the first shows early in the year. The singer, to these ears, "didn't have what it took". I found the shows sloppy, and full of mistakes.

Then fast forward six months...bits and pieces had leaked out since then in interviews and whatnot, like "John rehearsed 175 songs to start this tour" (and I'm sure more since then), and I checked out the 2 Chicago shows from the end of July. And they were pretty damn good, to the point that I made the decision "it's time to go document this shit!"

Soooo, hopefully this is the first installment of *ten* from these mics, decks, and this uploading "team".

I ran 4 decks from the middle left window upstairs, to mostly fantatstic results.

Opening with a sick "My Morning Song" and quickly going into the dirty, swampy tones of "Exit" was a great way to start, and the show just kept building from there. I'll let your ears pick out the highlights, as there are far too many for my feeble mind to name.

What I really like about where they're at 'now' is the simple fact that you know you're gonna get a few Crowes album cuts at the beginning, and a few at the end of the show, but what comprises the "meat" of the proceedings is the large middle portion, where you don't really know what you're gonna get...

Like a short acoustic portion that included "Cursed Diamond" -AND- a somewhat reworked "Spider In The Sugar Bowl Blues"

When it comes to a "deep cut cover", could you get any more obscure than Joe Cocker's "Hitchcock Railway"?

The variation of Marc and Rich solo tunes is also quite a treat.

Anyhow, enough of my ramblebabble, I hope you all enjoy listening to this as much as I enjoyed being there.

Simply put, if anyone deserves a 'salute' in all of this it's the inimitable "Mister O", (that being Dennis). His quick turnaround is to your benefit, and he *deserves* your thanks and praise.

I prolly just deserve a swift kick to the frontbutt, but that's a talk-show for another day...

More to come....oh so much more (did someone say "stable vi-DEE-oh")?
